Official Competition Rules

Aupairly.net — R5,000 Launch Prize Draw

Published in terms of section 36 of the Consumer Protection Act, 2008 ("CPA") and Regulation 11 of the Consumer Protection Act Regulations. These rules are effective from the date of publication below and remain available on this page, free of charge, for the duration of the competition and for three years thereafter.

1

The Promoter

This competition is conducted by AuPairly (Pty) Ltd, operating the website aupairly.net ("AuPairly," "we," "us," or "the Promoter"), being the entity that organises, conducts, and benefits from this promotional competition as defined in section 36(1)(c) of the CPA.

2

What This Competition Is

AuPairly is running a free promotional competition (the "Competition") to promote its au pair matching platform. The Competition rewards early au pairs who complete and have approved a free profile on AuPairly with automatic entry into a draw for a cash prize.

3

Who Can Enter

To be eligible to enter the Competition, an individual must:

Be a South African resident.

Be 18 years of age or older at the date of entry.

Create a free au pair profile on aupairly.net.

Have that profile reviewed and approved by the AuPairly team.

No purchase, payment, or subscription of any kind is required to enter or to win. Entry is automatic and free upon profile approval — no further action is needed.

4

Who Cannot Enter

The following persons may not enter or win the Competition, in line with section 36(3)(b) of the CPA:

Directors, employees, agents, or consultants of AuPairly (Pty) Ltd.

Any person who directly or indirectly controls, or is controlled by, AuPairly (Pty) Ltd.

Any supplier of goods or services engaged in connection with this Competition (including the independent overseer named in clause 7).

The immediate family members (spouse, life partner, parent, child, or sibling) of any person listed above.

5

How Entry Works

Entry opens on the date this page is published and remains open on a rolling basis.

Each approved au pair profile counts as one entry. Each individual may submit only one profile and is entitled to only one entry, regardless of how many profiles they attempt to create.

Entries are accepted in the order that profiles are approved by the AuPairly review team, not the order in which they are submitted for review.

The Competition closes automatically once the 1,000th eligible profile is approved, or on the Scheduled Draw Date in clause 6, whichever occurs first.

No cost of entry applies, so the R1.50 transmission-cost cap in Regulation 11(1) of the CPA Regulations is not relevant to this Competition — entry carries no charge of any kind.

6

The Draw Date

Target / Scheduled Draw Date: 1 July 2026. This is AuPairly's good-faith target for reaching 1,000 approved entrants. The rules below explain what happens if that target is reached earlier or later than expected.

AuPairly intends, and is working towards, reaching 1,000 approved au pair profiles by 1 July 2026. Because entries depend on organic sign-up and an admin approval step, the exact date the 1,000th entry is approved cannot be guaranteed in advance. The following rule therefore governs the actual draw date:

If the 1,000th eligible profile is approved on or before 1 July 2026, the Competition closes on that date and the draw will be held within 7 calendar days of closing.

If the 1,000th eligible profile has not yet been approved by 1 July 2026, the Competition remains open and entry continues until the 1,000th eligible profile is approved, at which point the Competition closes and the draw will be held within 7 calendar days.

AuPairly will publish the actual closing date and confirmed draw date on this page and notify entrants by email at least 48 hours before the draw takes place.

7

How the Winner Will Be Selected

The winner will be selected by random draw from the full, final list of eligible entries, using the following method:

Every eligible entrant will be assigned a sequential entry number, in the order their profile was approved.

A random number generator will be used to select one winning entry number from the complete list. AuPairly will use a documented, reproducible method (such as a spreadsheet RANDBETWEEN function or an equivalent online randomiser) so that the draw can be independently verified after the fact.

The draw will be overseen, witnessed, and certified by an independent person qualified under Regulation 11(5) of the CPA Regulations — namely an independent accountant, registered auditor, attorney, or advocate who has no other involvement with AuPairly (Pty) Ltd.

The independent overseer's role is to confirm, in a signed written report, that: the full entrant list was complete and accurate at the time of the draw; the random selection method was applied correctly and without manipulation; and the resulting winner was correctly identified. The overseer's report does not need to be witnessed in person — oversight conducted via a live video call or shared screen, where the overseer directly observes the draw being run, satisfies this requirement.

AuPairly will retain the independent overseer's signed report, the entrant list used for the draw, and a record of the random number generated, for a minimum of three years from the date of the draw.

8

Notifying and Verifying the Winner

The winner will be notified by email and/or phone using the contact details on their AuPairly profile, within 2 business days of the draw.

The winner will be asked to confirm their identity (full name and South African ID number) and to confirm they are not excluded under clause 4, before the prize is paid.

If the winner cannot be reached, or does not respond, within 14 calendar days of the first notification attempt, AuPairly reserves the right to select a replacement winner from the remaining eligible entries using the same method described in clause 7. A record of all contact attempts will be kept.

Once confirmed, the winner will be asked to sign a simple acknowledgement of receipt once the prize has been paid, for AuPairly's record-keeping.

9

The Prize

One cash prize of R5,000 (five thousand South African Rand), paid via electronic funds transfer (EFT) into the winner's South African bank account.

The prize is not transferable, exchangeable, or redeemable for cash equivalent in any other form, and may not be substituted except at AuPairly's discretion in the case of unforeseen circumstances.

The winner will not be required to attend any event, prize-giving, or marketing activity in order to receive the prize. If asked to take part in any related publicity (such as a testimonial), the winner has the right to decline, in accordance with Regulation 11(3) of the CPA Regulations.

10

General Conditions

Participation in this Competition constitutes acceptance of these rules in full.

AuPairly does not charge, and will never ask the winner to pay, any fee, tax, or charge as a condition of receiving the prize.

These rules may be obtained free of charge, at any time, by any entrant or by the National Consumer Commission, by visiting this page or by emailing AuPairly using the contact details on the About page.

A copy of these rules, the final entrant list, the independent overseer's report, and all winner records will be retained by AuPairly for a minimum of three years from the date the Competition closes, in line with section 36(3)(c)(iii) of the CPA.

AuPairly reserves the right to disqualify any entry obtained through fraud, duplicate profiles, or any other manipulation of the entry process.

This Competition is governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa, including the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 and its Regulations.
